n preparation for the 2024 SPE 61st Annual Conference in St. Louis, Missouri, the portfolio review team is accepting interest forms from those considering participating as a portfolio reviewer at the conference, March 21-23, 2024. Portfolio reviews are offered to both students and professionals looking to gain feedback on their work, as well as receive information about graduate school, exhibition opportunities, and more. Portfolio reviewers are eligible for a partial conference rebate following the conference. There are a limited number of review slots available, and not everyone who fills out an interest form will be invited to review at the conference. Please fill out the interest form as soon as possible to allow the reviewer selection to begin in a timely manner.
PORTFOLIO REVIEW ─ OPEN CALL
For the 2nd edition of BPM Book Festival, 2024, we have prepared one session of Portfolio Reviews, similar to those that occur during Belgrade Photo Month. There will be five reviewers and each one will work with six applicants (twenty minutes per candidate). The reviews will be of printed photographs. The Portfolio Review will take place from 10am on 26th April, 2024, in the city of Belgrade. Serbia.

WHAT TO SEND
One PDF which includes a short CV and portfolio of no more than eleven pages (images 72 dpi). The CV has to be written in English. You can submit your application to a maximum of three reviewers, but please send an individual email for each one.
The deadline for submission of applications is 20th April, 2024, at midnight CET. The accepted applicants will hear back from us confirming their participation 24 hours after application.

The Chico Review takes place over six nights at Chico Hot Springs Resort, near Livingston Montana. Sixty-four applicants will be selected by our jury and invited to spend the week with twenty of the most influential and creative photographers, book makers, gallerists, museum curators, and photobook publishers in the industry. One full scholarship and five partial scholarships will be awarded. Student discounts and need-based scholarships will be available to those selected who qualify.
Attending artists receive ten formal reviews by speakers and reviewers and take part in artist lectures, panel discussions, peer reviews, and additional evening programming over the seven day event.

The reviews initially set out to determine what the framework is for success. Does the photography edge towards personal expression or is it seeking a wider audience, or aiming for both. Once this is agreed we work towards offering the best supportive feedback and pathway, referencing similar work and suggesting photographers to look at.
Sessions are through an agreed appointment time with options for virtual meet-ups spread over several months.

The Emergentes Portfolio Reviews for 2024 are now open for submissions. Encontros da Imagem is excited to announce that our annual portfolio reviews — with a jury of internationally and nationally acclaimed professionals in the photography field — are returning to the historic city of Braga in September 2024. This Award offers a chance to meet with recognized commissioners, gallerists, curators and publishers, to present your portfolio, promote your work and receive valuable feedback and advice.
The 32 selected photographers receive 8 individual review appointments, lasting 20 minutes each (10+10 minutes), and have the opportunity to influence who they meet with ahead of the reviews.
The jury will be looking for the best contemporary photographic works, and will award the 1st place winner a prize of 3000€ and 2 Honorable mentions with 1.000€ each. The winner will have a solo exhibition on the edition of 2025, as well.

Every year during Circulation(s) Festival, Fetart collective organizes portfolio readings for photographers. Always in the desire to be a springboard for photographers, this weekend is entirely dedicated to their visual practices. Real moments of exchange, these portfolio readings allow photographers to present their work to experts of the images world : gallery owners, agencies, critics, festival directors, iconographers, etc. will be present to guide photographers on their existing projects. The goal is to draw a critical appreciation, find opportunities for diffusion or exhibition of their images.

To support our members with their photography and stay connected during this crisis, CPA will continue to offer online portfolio reviews. Held every Wednesday, the 20-minute reviews will be led by the executive director of CPA, Ann Jastrab. These sessions are for photographers with a developed body of work, though Ann will look at new projects too. Students and recent graduates are of course welcome.
In house reviewer, Denise Froehlich is an experienced museum leader with a demonstrated history of working in the fine arts industry. Skilled in directing, curating, Art History, theory, and contemporary art. She is a strong arts and design professional with a Master of Fine Arts in Photography, and undergraduate degrees in photography, art education and art history. Froehlich is also an arts consultant who has helped shape the portfolios and careers of the very best.

The Fall Palm Springs Photo Festival 2021 Portfolio Review program will offer professional, emerging professional and serious advanced amateur photographers the opportunity to meet with members of our remarkable all-star review faculty in private, 20-minute sessions to present portfolios and form valuable relationships.

Meg chose to shoot in the poorer neighborhoods of Mexicali, Mexico, the capital city of the state of Baja California. With over a million residents, the possibilities were enormous. Residents hardships were visible. Meg lived a few miles north of the Mexicali border in the lower desert of California, USA. The summers there last roughly seven months, and daytime temperatures during several of those months are almost always over 115 degrees F. Nights get down to 90-plus degrees F. In addition, major earthquake faults run through the area, and roughly every ten years or so, a large earthquake hits causing some buildings to crack or even crumble.
