By entering the competition you hereby accept the Competition Rules and the
Terms and Conditions of Use:
Eligibility: Photographer of the Week ('the Competition'), is open to all individuals who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry. It is open to professional and amateur photographers alike.
Note: All About Photo ('AAP') makes no representations or warranties, implicit or explicit, as to your legal right to participate in any competition offered on the website. You are subject to all laws of the state, province and/or country in which you reside and from which you access the website and are solely responsible for obeying those laws. You agree AAP cannot be held liable, if laws applicable to you restrict or prohibit your participation.
The Competition begins October 07, 2024 at 12:00 AM. PST and ends October 13, 2024, 11:59 PM. PST.
To enter the Competition: You must upload your images via AAP's website: www.all-about-photo.com, following the on-screen instructions carefully.

AAP will not accept hardcopy, email, or disk submissions.
By entering the Competition, you agree and acknowledge that AAP is permitted to receive and review your registration data. Participants agree that personal data including, but not limited to, name, mailing address, phone number, and email address may be collected, processed, stored and otherwise used for the purposes of conducting and administering this photo competition. At any time, participants have the right to access, review, rectify or cancel any personal data held by AAP by sending an email to the following address:
support@all-about-photo.com.
Images requirements:
No Watermarks.
Saved as JPEG or JPG.
Resolution of 72 dpi.
Grayscale or RGB profile.
Layers must be flattened.
Digital file should not exceed 2 MB.
Longest dimension should not exceed 1200 pixels, with a minimum size of 200 pixels.
Entry Fees:Participation is free. The contest has no cost.
Judging:
The Competition consists of a juried assessment based on the following criteria ('Judging Criteria'):
1. Creativity.
2. Artistic skill/Photographic quality.
Judging Process:The juror, who will score all the entries, will score each image between 1 and 5 for the first round. The judging process will be blind. No names or any kind of information will be given to the juror.
The 1 scores will be added to produce a final score out of 5.
The highest scoring images will then go through a second round to be re-scored between 1 and 7 by the juror on the panel, and the highest scoring image after this round will be deemed the first place winner, the second highest scoring image will be deemed the second place winner etc.
In the case of a tie the scores from the first round will be added to the scores of the second round. The Image with the highest overall score will be deemed the winner.
In the event that images are still tied at the end of the judging process, those images will be re-judged by a further independent judging panel to produce the winner.
Competition Prizes:The winner of the Competition will be notified by email by October 21, 2024. Decisions of the juror are final and binding.
Winner's name will be also available online at www.all-about-photo.com after October 21, 2024.
The winner will receive:
US$100 cash prize.

Photographer of the Week.
Plus, for the entire week:
- Your winning photo will be showcased on the All About Photo website (Home Page and Photographers' pages),
- Featured in the online Winners Gallery on All About Photo,
- Highlighted in our Newsletter,
- Promoted across All About Photo's social media platforms.
Additionally, you'll be invited to permanently showcase your portfolio on www.all-about-photo.com.
Conditions: THIS COMPETITION IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. Entrants agree that this Competition shall be subject to and governed by the laws of California and the forum for any dispute shall be in California, United States of America. To the extent permitted by law, the right to litigate, to seek injunctive relief or to make any other recourse to judicial or any other procedure in case of disputes or claims resulting from or on connection with this Competition are hereby excluded and any entrant expressly waives any and all such rights. Certain restrictions may apply. Entries void if AAP determines the artwork/photograph to not be an original, or if the entries are illegible, incomplete, damaged, irregular, counterfeit, produced in error or obtained through fraud or theft.
By entering, entrants also agree (a) to be bound by these Official Rules; (b) that the decisions of the Jurors are final and binding with respect to all matters relating to the Competition; and (c) if the entrant wins that AAP may use the winning photographs and each winner’s name, photograph, likeness, and/or voice in any publicity or advertising relating to the Competition or future promotions without compensation or approval (except where prohibited by law). All federal, state/provincial/territorial, and local taxes, fees and surcharges and taxes (whether foreign or domestic, and including income, sales, and import taxes) on prizes are the sole responsibility of the prizewinners. In the event that the selected winner(s) of any prize is/are ineligible, cannot be traced or does/do not respond within ten (10) days to a winner notification as required by the ''Competition Prizes'' Rules above, or refuses the prize, the prize will be forfeited and AAP, in its sole discretion, may choose whether to award the prize to another entrant.
AAP reserves the right to verify the validity and originality of any entry and/or entrant (including an entrant's identity and address) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Official Rules or who tampers with the entry process. Failure by the Site to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
AAP reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and remove any entry that does not comply with the following requirements, even after the entry is submitted on the Website. You warrant and represent, in respect of each entry submitted by You (''Entry''), as follows:
1. You are the sole owner and author of each Entry.
2. You have the right to make Your entry available to the Competition.
3. Each Entry does not contain personally identifiable information about You or any other person(s).
4. Each Entry does not contain any infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, libelous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic or profane content.
5. Each Entry does not contain any material that could constitute or encourage conduct which would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law.
6. Each Entry does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, contract rights, or any other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity, or violate any person's rights of privacy or publicity, and Your Entry does not include:
- trademarks owned by third parties.
- copyrighted materials owned by third parties (including movie dialogue or musical compositions).
- names, likenesses, voices or other characteristics identifying celebrities or other public figures, living or dead.
7. Entries which contain any commercial content that promotes any product or service other than that of AAP.
8. Entries containing screen credits.
You agree to fully indemnify AAP in respect of all royalties, fees and any other monies owing to any person by reason of Your breaching any of the foregoing.
You confirm that each person depicted in the Entry has granted permission to be portrayed as shown. Any costumes, props or other materials used must be rented or borrowed with the permission of the owner, and all other relevant permissions must have been obtained.
AAP recognizes you, the author of the image, retain full ownership of the copyright in each Entry. The full name of each entrant whose work is selected as a winner or finalist will be published online.
All entrants understand that any image submitted to the Competition may be used by AAP, and its Event Partners, for marketing and promotional purposes of the event only. AAP will always notify the owner of the photograph before any publication or inclusion is made. Each photographer retains copyright of his or her images, and proper credit lines will be attributed to each photographer when exhibited or screened anywhere by AAP. Any failure to provide such credit line shall not be deemed to be a breach, as long as AAP uses its reasonable endeavors to rectify such failure within a reasonable period from the date of notice of such failure.
You agree to participate in related publicity and to the use of Your name and likeness for the purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without additional compensation.
You hereby grant AAP a non-exclusive license in each Entry throughout the world in all media for any use connected to the promotion of the Competition, including, but not limited too:
(a) judging the Competition.
(b) displaying the winning entries and runners up at public exhibitions promoting AAP and organized by AAP.
(c) inclusion within the www.all-about-photo.com website, an Competition's book, magazine or similar.
(d) inclusion within any materials in the promotion of the Competition.
(e) sub-licensing the Entries to the press for reproduction in connection with the Competition.
(f) allowing viewers of the Website to view images on a computer screen, PDA or mobile telephone and store such pages in electronic form on disk or on a PDA or mobile telephone (but not on any server or other storage device connected to a network) for their personal, non-commercial use only.
AAP assumes no responsibility for any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Competition, and AAP assumes no responsibility for technical, hardware or software failure of any kind, for lost network connections, garbled computer transmissions, other problems or technical malfunctions with regard to the Competition. AAP assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, corruption, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alteration of Entries. AAP is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail addressed to AAP on account of technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the internet or any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to Your or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Competition. If for any reason a contestant's entry cannot be viewed or is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer viruses, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud or technical failures, AAP assumes no responsibility.
In no event will AAP, its parents, affiliates, Event Partners, its advertising or promotion agencies, or its officers, directors, employees, shareholders, representatives or agents be responsible or liable for any damages or losses of any kind, including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages arising out of any contestant's access to and use of the Website. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, everything on the Website is provided ''as is'', without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for purpose or use or non-infringement.
You acknowledge that AAP and its event partners assume no responsibility and are not liable for any image misuse.
RIGHT TO CANCEL OR SUSPEND COMPETITION:
If for any reason the Competition is not capable of running as planned, due to infection by computer virus, bugs, worms, Trojan horses, denial of service attacks, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Site that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Competition, AAP reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual(s) who tamper with the entry process, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Competition. If AAP elects to cancel or terminate the Competition, AAP will not retain any rights in the submitted photographs, and will return the fees submitted with each entry.
