Calling all photographers worldwide! AAP Magazine is accepting submissions for its 54th issue, dedicated to Nature Photography. Convened by Viviane Esders, the jury has awarded the 2025 Viviane Esders Prize to German photographer Dörte Eißfeldt. The laureate will be officially announced on November 3 during a ceremony at the INHA (Institut National de l’Histoire de l’Art) in Paris and in her presence. She will receive an endowment of €50,000, while the two other finalists, Oleksandr Suprun and Bohdan Holomíček, will each receive €5,000 and will also attend the event. The jury chose to honor an artistic practice sustained over more than forty years, distinguished by its coherence, poetry, and deep reflection on the photographic medium—qualities that particularly captivated the jury’s attention in Dörte Eißfeldt’s work.

Each year, Photolucida’s Critical Mass stands out as one of the most respected and insightful photography competitions in the world. The process is as rigorous as it is inspiring: photographers submit a cohesive portfolio of around ten images accompanied by an artist statement, which are first reviewed and narrowed down to 200 finalists before being evaluated by an international jury of industry professionals.

More than forty war correspondents have gathered in Bayeux on October 10th and 11th to debate and award seven trophies in the following categories: photo, print, radio, television, grand format television, young reporter (print) and video image. Three honorary awards have been attributed: the Regional prize for students and trainees of Normandy (television), the Public’s Choice award (photo) and the Ouest-France – Jean Marin prize (print).
