Now in its 8th year, the Women in Art Prize is once again welcoming submissions. This year, we’ve expanded our eligibility to include all emerging women photographers.
This prestigious competition provides a platform for emerging photographers and photographers without gallery representation, as well as newcomers to the photography scene, both in the UK and internationally.
With fantastic prizes—and more to be announced—this is an incredible opportunity to showcase your talent.
We are committed to supporting our 22 finalists beyond the awards, working throughout the year to secure new exhibitions and opportunities to help you share your incredible work with the world.

PRIZES YOU CAN WIN
The Eve Arnold Photography Prize – £1,000
The overall winner will receive a solo show with a PV at Art Academy London’s new campus, opposite Tate Modern, along with mentoring from the Art Academy.
BEST OVERSEAS PHOTOGRAPHER – OPEN TO ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS OUTSIDE THE UK – £1,000
Eligibility:
Overseas photographers are eligible only for the overseas prize and will not qualify for any other prizes. Please ensure you tick the relevant boxes on the submission form.
Prize Details:
The winner’s work will be printed and framed for the 2025 exhibition, with all costs covered by the Women in Art Prize.
PARTNER AWARDS
The Susan Angoy Artist of African and Caribbean Heritage Award – £1,000
This prize is open to emerging women photographers with African and Caribbean heritage, including:
Black African
Black Caribbean
Black Other
Mixed – White and Black Caribbean
Mixed – White and Black African
Other mixed backgrounds (including Black African, Black Caribbean, or Black Other)
Applicants must provide a supporting statement outlining:
How receiving this award would make a difference
How it would enhance their artistic development
Failure to submit a supporting statement will result in disqualification from this prize.
The Tim May Memorial Prize – £1,000
This prize, generously donated by Susan Angoy in memory of her late husband, Tim May, is open to all emerging women photographers.
Applicants must provide a supporting statement outlining:
How receiving this award would make a difference
How it would enhance their artistic development
Failure to submit a supporting statement will result in disqualification from this prize.
? Important: Applicants must submit a supporting statement for both of Susan Angoy’s prizes as outlined above. Without this, their application will not be considered.
ADDITIONAL AWARDS & OPPORTUNITIES
D Contemporary Gallery – Finalists' Exhibition
All finalists will have the opportunity to exhibit their work at a Private View at D Contemporary Gallery in London, a prestigious space for contemporary photography.
Winning Work Displayed at Zebra One Gallery
The winning photographer's work will be displayed at Zebra One Gallery, Hampstead, for one month, offering valuable exposure in a well-respected gallery space.
The Riverstone Living Exhibition Award
Open to photographers aged 60 and over, this award provides a special solo exhibition opportunity at the Riverstone Highgate gallery space with a PV and a talk to celebrate and showcase the creativity of mature women photographers.
The Young Women in Art Award for Young Women Photographers
Open to emerging women photographers aged 26 and under, this award offers recognition and support to encourage young talent in the photography world.
Artter Magazine Feature
Artter Magazine, an exclusive digital platform founded by female artist and art businesswoman @baharakjourabchi, is dedicated to showcasing and supporting talent worldwide. Winners will receive a full interview feature, providing valuable recognition and exposure.
Art on a Postcard – 2026 International Women's Day Auction
All finalists will be entered into the 2026 International Women's Day Auction with Art on a Postcard, offering international visibility and fundraising opportunities.
The Mall Galleries Prize for The Eve Arnold Photography Prize Winner
The winner of The Eve Arnold Photography Prize will receive 10 free entries to open exhibitions hosted by the Federation of British Artists Societies, valued at £180.
Exhibition Space at FLUX 2026 & Feature in The FLUX Review
A dedicated exhibition space at FLUX 2026, showcasing the photographer's work at this renowned contemporary art fair.
A 10-page interview and feature in an edition of The FLUX Review magazine, available in over 700 bookstores.
A Solo Exhibition at Cass Art
The winner will receive a solo exhibition at Cass Art plus £250 worth of photography-related vouchers to spend in-store.
Forge Art Fair Booth
One finalist will receive a booth at @forgeartfair in November 2025, offering a prestigious platform to showcase their work to collectors and industry professionals.
Genesis Imaging Award
Genesis Imaging is offering £250 worth of printing or retouching services for a winner’s next project, helping to support and enhance their artistic practice.
Interview, Studio Visit, and Outreach Campaign
Winners will have the opportunity for exclusive interviews, a studio visit, and participation in an outreach campaign, further promoting their work. The awards are covered by Art Collector News, Forbes, Art Review, and Fabric Magazine.
